Embark on this Gosainkunda short trek as it takes visitors through the heart of the Langtang region. The Gosaikunda Lake is situated at Langtang National Park region, which is 41.5 kilometers from the capital of Kathmandu.
Gosaikunda, situated at 4,380 meters, is surrounded by several mountain peaks. The Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri lay for a panoramic view of these snow-capped towering peaks in the Gosaikunda region.
Gosainkunda Short Trek is a moderate trek suitable for all travelers coming solo and in groups. Couples or people with children can also complete the trek. Getting travel insurance for the Gosaikunda trek is optional. However, taking travel insurance to safeguard against any unforeseen circumstances is recommended.
The places of interest in this short Gosaikunda trekking itinerary are the Langtang Valley, Sing Gompa Lauri Bina Pass, and Gosaikunda and its surrounding lakes. Similarly, the Gosaikunda Lake needs various permits to enter as it is a protected area. Some documents required to enter the region are the Langtang National Park Entry Permit and the Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) Card.
As you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Holiday Planner Nepal will wait for you in the arrival section. Upon meeting, the member will transfer your luggage to the private vehicle. Afterward, you will drive toward the bustling city of Kathmandu and reach the tourist hub, also known as Thamel, where the hotel is situated. After checking in, you will rest and meet the company owner later in the evening for a short briefing about the trek. After the meeting, we will have a welcome dinner at one of the authentic Nepalese restaurants with cultural music and dances. After dinner, return to the hotel and rest. Spend overnight in Kathmandu.
After waking up, have breakfast and pack your bag for the trip. After completing all the preparations, our company representative will pick you up from the hotel lobby and take you on a scenic drive towards Dhunche in a public, shared, or private vehicle. On the way, you will pass through beautiful scenery along the Trishuli River. You will pass along various waterfalls and picturesque settlements, which take about six to seven hours. After arriving in Dhunche, stroll around the village and explore the area. Settle in an accommodation place and have dinner. Stay overnight in Dhunche.
Today, after you wake up, get refreshed and have breakfast. After breakfast, begin the trek towards Sing Gompa, also known as Chandanbari, which takes about 5 hours. Initially, you will pass through the rhododendron forest through a flat route. After completion, you will enter the Langtang National Park. Then, you will reach Sing Gompa, where a beautiful monastery resides. After exploring the monastery, you will continue towards the yak cheese factory. After savoring some yak products, you will settle down in a place of accommodation and have dinner. After dinner, rest and stay overnight in Chandanbari.
After breakfast, you will go towards the Gosaikunda lake, the trek's primary destination. The trail from Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda is initially a narrow path with a gradual uphill climb. You can witness many mountain ranges, including the Langtang range, with Ganesh Himal and Himal Chuli views. As you walk along this section of the route, you will come across a prominent Tamang settlement known as Lauribina, where lunch is served. After lunch, cross the Lauribina pass and descend, followed by an uphill climb to Gosaikunda Lake. There are 108 lakes in the vicinity which are waiting for exploration. A dip in the holy Gosaikunda lake, believed to wash away human sin, can be done. If not, you can have peace of mind or click photographs. After spending time in Gosaikunda, you will find accommodation and settle for dinner. After dinner, rest and spend overnight in Gosaikunda.
After waking up, have breakfast in the accommodation in Gosaikunda. After breakfast, you will return to Dhunche and bid goodbye to the tranquil Gosaikunda Lake. You will return on the same path you came before, through several ups and downs. You will continue descending on narrow, steep paths and cross the rhododendron forests. After which, you will finally reach Dhunche. After reaching Dhunche, you will settle in a place of accommodation and have dinner. Stay overnight in Dhunche.
As you wake up in Dhunche, you will be refreshed and have breakfast. After breakfast, you will pack your stuff and go to the Dhunche bus station, where you will take a shared or private vehicle to drive towards Kathmandu. The drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu will last 5 hours, depending on the road and traffic conditions along the Trishuli Highway. As the drive comes to an end, you will finally reach Kathmandu. You will then meet with the company owner and describe your journey. Afterward, you will return to the hotel and have a rest. Later in the evening, you will have a farewell dinner at one of the restaurants in Kathmandu. After dinner, return to the hotel and stay overnight in Kathmandu.
Today, you will leave Nepal and head towards your next destination or home country. You will buy souvenirs for yourself or friends and family. After all the preparations, we will arrange a private vehicle to take you to the international airport. You must reach the airport before 2 hours of your departure time. After getting the airport, you will enter the terminal and wait for the plane. You will savor all the memories made in Nepal after boarding the plane. Goodbye!!
Children above three and elders below 75 can complete this trek very quickly. In rare cases, the itinerary must be explained by a day, or Gosainkunda can be done soon by children and older adults.
The costs involved in completing the Gosainkunda trek on a full-board package can range from $599 to $699.
Trekkers with average physical fitness can complete the trek as the trek doesn't involve that much of a high-altitude stay, and the trek involves walking for 6-7 hours max per day so that this trek can be completed even by beginners.
