Langtang Valley, a picturesque landscape and cultural adventure is appropriate for all travelers, including corporate individuals and families with children. It is a great place to spend interesting and pleasurable vacations for any length of time.
With its amazing walks, the Langtang Trekking leads to rolling, high, green hills covered with a dense forest of beautiful pine, oak, rhododendron, magnolia, hemlock, and fir tree lines. As trekkers advance towards higher altitudes, these tree lines start turning to short bushes and alpine shrubs, creating breathtaking scenes under the shadow of towering mountains.
Along with the region’s mountains and enchanted forests, the Tamang ethnic tribe’s culture and customs are intriguing as travelers stroll through traditional villages on these picturesque treks along the Langtang Himal Panorama.
Leaving Kathmandu by overland and driving to the north of the valley through charming towns and farming villages to reach the high hills of Langtang Himal and Langtang National Park, created around the Nepal Himalaya in the early 1976 A.D.
Starting at the village of Syabrubeshi, the trek ascends through scenic countryside and a river canyon before arriving at Kyanjin, our main destination, which is situated in the stunning Langtang valley surrounded by the towering peaks of the Langtang Himal.
Having a fantastic time in the stunning surroundings, taking in the views of the Langtang and Jugal Himal Ranges, and then returning to Kathmandu by the same way to reach the road head after an amazing Langtang Valley trip.
We start our wonderful adventure with a morning overland journey towards the Langtang Himal Area, as the drive leads past the Kathmandu valley rim, heading northwest to reach Dhunche, the headquarters town of Rasuwa district within Langtang Himal, the home of Tamang people, the hill tribe of Central Himalaya. The drive leads downhill on a zig-zag winding road to reach Syabrubeshi for the first overnight stop within the Langtang area. Meals: Lunch and Dinner with Tea/coffee.
The morning begins our first day of the trek of this wonderful trip, heading towards a bridge and then on uphill through spread-out farm villages and nicely tended terraced fields, entering into the cool shade of forest with tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks and pines trees with some bamboo thickets. Slowly, walks lead past tree lines, reaching an open area at Lama Hotel with several basic lodges and tea houses for trekkers surrounded by the woodland.
After a pleasant overnight with the sound of the river, the morning walk leads into a gorge covered with lovely dense forest, as our route leads to a clearing at Ghodatabela, a nice spot with few lodges, here for the possible lunch stop. Enjoying a refreshing break, then walking back into tree lines as our trek leads higher ground to reach Langtang village at the end of a gorge, a nice Tamang village (which was destroyed during the earthquake of 2015 but is slowly coming back to normal life), here with time to wander around this nice traditional village of great interest.
From Langtang village, walk on a nice gradual uphill trail for a few hours following the "mani-prayer wall," where walking clockwise is the appropriate way in Buddhist religion; the walk leads further east as the valley opens up with views of snow-capped peaks. After hours of gentle good walk overlooking views of peaks, you at Kyanjin Gompa, a charming and scenic spot with amazing views of Langtang Lirung above 7,000m and its icefall at near distance Kyanjin Gompa, surrounded by a ridge formed by glacial moraine of rocks and boulders.
For a leisure day, visit Kyanjin small Cheese factory with an optional climb to Tsergo-Ri or Kyanjin Ri at above 4,700 m / 15,420ft, which will add more heights of the adventure offers a stunning panorama of snow-capped mountains from Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal (7,405 m), Langtang Lirung (7,234 m), Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6,571m), Kimshun (6,745 m) and Shalbachum (6,918m), Chimsedang, Naya-Kanga or Ganja Chuli (5,846m), Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak, Jugal Himal and ending to eastern horizon at Dorje Lakpa (6,980m).
